How to Buy

Customers may purchase from ready stock or request vehicles through Japanese auctions. Availability, condition, price, timing, and import eligibility should be confirmed before purchase.

Select a Vehicle

Choose from ready stock, request a specific model, or send an auction-lot reference.

Confirm Budget

Share your total budget, destination, preferred year, mileage, grade, and required features.

Receive Invoice

After confirmation or successful purchase, an official invoice will be issued with payment instructions.

Prepare for Shipping

Once payment and export preparation are complete, the vehicle will be arranged for shipment.

Ready-Stock Purchases

Ready-stock vehicles are subject to availability and may be sold on a first-confirmed, first-paid basis. Vehicle details, photographs, condition, location, and estimated shipping costs should be reviewed before payment.

Auction Requests

Auction bid requests should be submitted before 8:00 PM Japan time. Requests sent after that time may not be accepted, and condition-check support may not be available.

Final Purchase Responsibility

Customers must carefully verify the selected vehicle, chassis, auction lot, model, year, and maximum bid. Once a vehicle is successfully purchased, the purchase is generally final.

Inspection & Condition

Vehicle information may come from auction sheets, seller disclosures, inspections, photographs, and third-party reports. Used vehicles may have wear, repairs, defects, modifications, or age-related deterioration.

Payment & Banking

iCar Japan and TMT Corporation operate as a joint venture. TMT Corporation handles payment and banking activities from the Japan side. Customers must transfer funds only to the beneficiary account shown on the official invoice.

Shipping Options

Shipping method and schedule depend on destination, carrier availability, port acceptance, vehicle dimensions, route, seasonal congestion, and local regulations.

RORO Shipping

Roll-on/roll-off shipping is commonly used for operable vehicles. The vehicle is driven onto the vessel and secured for transport. Personal items are usually not permitted inside the vehicle.

Container Shipping

Container shipping may be suitable for multiple units, non-running vehicles, valuable vehicles, or destinations where RORO service is limited. Loading plans depend on vehicle size and container capacity.

Shipping Schedule

Vessel dates are estimates and may change because of carrier decisions, port congestion, weather, documentation delays, transshipment, customs checks, or operational restrictions.

Shipping Documents

Depending on the transaction and destination, documents may include the commercial invoice, export certificate, bill of lading, inspection certificate, packing information, and other carrier or customs documents.

Destinations & Import Support

Import rules vary by country and may include age limits, emissions standards, inspections, taxes, duties, registration requirements, and right-hand-drive restrictions.

Pacific Islands

We regularly support customers in destinations such as Kiribati, Tonga, Micronesia, Palau, Samoa, Fiji, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, and the Solomon Islands, subject to available shipping routes.

Africa

Vehicle-export support may be available for markets including Ghana, Nigeria, and other destinations depending on shipping access, local import rules, and carrier acceptance.

Europe, USA & Caribbean

Certain vehicles may be exported to Europe, the United States, and Caribbean destinations when the vehicle meets destination-specific age, safety, emissions, and import requirements.

Customer Import Responsibility

The customer is responsible for confirming local import eligibility, taxes, duties, registration, compliance, inspection, insurance, and customs-clearance requirements before purchase.

Import Guidance Is General Information

iCar Japan may provide practical guidance based on experience, but import rules can change without notice. Customers should verify current requirements with customs, transport authorities, inspection agencies, or a licensed local clearing agent.

Offers, Promotions & Cashback

Promotional campaigns may be offered for selected vehicles, customers, markets, payment periods, or shipping programs. Terms may vary by campaign.

1% cashback on qualifying purchases
